OUR STORY

sabaai - The meaning.

If you look in a Thai-English dictionary the translation for the word ‘sabaai‘ will probably say ‘comfortable’, but that doesn’t really explain how important this word is in the Thai language or the Thai approach to life.

Traditionally speaking, Thais like things to be sabaai sabaai with the word repeated to add extra emphasis a bit like saying very comfortable, being well, to enjoy or being really relaxed. Sabaai is the freedom of being at ease with yourself and in a state of total peace. Sabaai does emphasise that everything is really just great and couldn’t be better, everything is well and good. Sabaai is physical wellness, tranquility, happiness, contentment, inner peace, relaxed and peaceful surroundings.

There are numerous ways sabaai is used in the Thai language and even if you don’t speak any Thai, you are still likely to be able to pick out the word sabaai when you are in Thailand because it is part of Thai culture and so commonly used.

How we started.

Year 2002. Having years of international experience in multi site management, marketing, & development in the fashion industry & retail across Western & Eastern Europe we chose to escape far away from our over developed, modern, manipulated and stressful world.

Whilst attending online studies & enjoying the peaceful and relaxed "sabaai" Thai Island freedom life in Koh Phangan in South of Thailand we became enthusiastic about the comfort of the local Thai Island Fisherman's Pant's that we wore daily and the unforgettable impressions of Thai floating Wish Lanterns used in local celebrations. Becoming even more impressed by the fascinating beauty of the local Thai Wish Lanterns, we focused on the need for such simple, special and beautiful products in Europe.

We decided to share and make them available worldwide. Humble beginnings saw us purchasing small quantities from local crafts people and sending them in small parcels to family members and friends across Europe.

The idea and passion for our sabaai® online Shop - sabaai® Homes Samui - sabaai® address & mail forwarding - sabaai® Land & House - sabaai® Villa Management was born.

Customers became excited and totally enchanted by the unforgettable memories created by our authentic wishwhisper® Wish Lanterns at all types of celebrations. Orders from all parts of the globe followed and we developed sales worldwide.

Success demanded that the growing demand need to be approached to make available to the world what had previously only been available to a small progressive market. sabaai® became a duly registered trademark and a part of Arcus Corporation.

Year 2011 we decided to manage and to make available two villas under the registered trademark sabaai® Homes for rent with sea views located in the peaceful and silent mountains of Chaweng Noi Koh Samui.
